Cookie & Local Storage Policy
Effective: September 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and local browser storage technologies are, how InvoiceGen Pro uses them, and how you can manage or disable them.
1. What Are Cookies and Browser Storage?
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or mobile device by websites that you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, provide personalized content, or gather web traffic insights.
In addition to cookies, modern web applications make use of Web Storage (LocalStorage and SessionStorage). LocalStorage allows websites to store key-value data directly in your browser without transmitting that data across the network with every single HTTP request.
2. How InvoiceGen Pro Uses LocalStorage
InvoiceGen Pro relies heavily on browser LocalStorage rather than traditional server databases to protect your privacy and ensure offline reliability:
- User Preferences: Storing your choice of Light or Dark mode.
- Shop Defaults: Remembering your business name, contact phone, default tax/VAT percentage, and standard payment notes so you don't need to re-enter them on future visits.
- Saved Invoices: Maintaining a localized index of invoices you explicitly choose to save for future duplicate or edit operations.
- Invoice Counter: Keeping your sequential invoice numbers aligned (e.g. INV-0001, INV-0002).
Notice: None of this LocalStorage data is ever shared with, uploaded to, or accessible by our web servers.
3. Analytics Technologies
We do not currently employ intrusive user session recording or tracking software. If standardized privacy-respecting website traffic analytics (e.g., aggregated pageview counters) are added in the future, this policy will be updated with full disclosure.
4. Third-Party Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense)
To maintain InvoiceGen Pro as a completely free tool without paywalls or user fees, our website may partner with third-party advertising networks, such as Google AdSense, to display non-intrusive advertisements.
These third-party vendors use cookies to serve advertisements based on your prior browsing activity on this and other websites. Google's advertising cookies allow it and its partners to serve ads relevant to your interests.
5. How You Can Control Cookies and LocalStorage
You have full authority to restrict, block, or clear cookies and LocalStorage at any time:
- In the App: Open the Shop Settings modal inside InvoiceGen Pro and select "Clear All Local Data" to instantly delete all invoices, counters, and shop defaults saved in your browser.
- Browser Settings: All modern browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) allow you to view, delete, and prevent third-party cookies or site data via their respective "Privacy & Security" settings menus.
- Ad Personalization Opt-Out: You can opt out of personalized Google advertising at Google Ad Settings or via aboutads.info.
6. Policy Updates & Contact
We may update this policy periodically to reflect technology upgrades or operational changes. If you have questions regarding this policy, please reach out to us at: support@example.com.
